The Plant Controller reports to the Finance Director and will be a key member of the Welland Plant Management Team. The Plant Controller is responsible for all financial aspects on site, including maintaining accurate financial records, budgeting, forecasting, analyzing and reviewing financial performance at the Welland facility. The Plant Controller is expected to use their knowledge of the financials to drive the Plant performance by helping to set and achieve financial targets. The Plant Controller will also be responsible for developing and maintaining Plant-level financial controls and monitoring compliance with all accounting policies.

Essential Responsibilities
Provide financial support to Welland site leadersExecute Factory finance responsibilities in close cooperation with Welland and Waukesha management teams including : Budgeting, forecasting, analysis, and reportingAnalyze variances and proactively communicate explanations to management with recommended actionsAlign plant productivity with transparent financial targetsImplement and track cost and working capital optimization programsAssist the Welland team in development of capital project financial justifications.Create transparency on all factory spend categories like Tools, Supplies, Maintenance, Scrap, Rework, Purchased Services and implement optimization programsHave site leadership for the Welland finance team, evaluate and coach existing team, build a high performance finance teamProvide proactive consultation, interpretation and education of complex financial and operational matters to various departmental leaders used to drive business decisionsMonitor and implement plant internal controls (in conjunction with corporate policies) as necessary to ensure reporting integrity, safeguard company assets, and identify risksManage internal and external audits of the Welland facilityDetermine and maintain all accounting principles and processes and ensure compliance to IFRS / US GAAP regulations.Implement a controls-based approach to all financial processesQualifications / Requirements
Bachelor or Master’s Degree in Accounting or FinanceMinimum 8 years of accounting or finance experience in a complex environment in a Plant Controller or Public Accounting roleOracle experience is a plusAdvanced skills in the Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Access, PowerPoint)Knowledge of budgeting and forecasting techniques as well as proficiency with financial statement analysis and projectionStrong knowledge of IFRS / US GAAPStrong oral and written communication skillsAbility to work autonomouslyAbility to anticipate, identify, and resolve complex financial issues while managing multiple tasksExtensive knowledge of business operationsAbility to travel up to 10%#J-18808-Ljbffr
