Database Administrator

We are looking for an experienced Database Administrator to join our team in Brantford, Ontario. In this long-term contract position, you will play a critical role in managing and enhancing our database systems, ensuring optimal performance and reliability. This position requires a proactive individual with a strong technical background and a commitment to maintaining high-quality data infrastructure.

Responsibilities :

• Develop and manage databases, ensuring they meet organizational needs and performance standards.
• Act as the primary database resource, taking full ownership of database administration and development.
• Maintain and optimize Microsoft SQL Server databases, addressing performance issues and ensuring efficient operations.
• Oversee processes related to data integration, warehousing, and business intelligence.
• Utilize SQL Server Management Studio to handle deployments, exports, and environment support.
• Collaborate with DevOps teams to support database build and deployment pipelines.
• Write and fine-tune SQL queries to resolve performance bottlenecks and enhance system efficiency.
• Monitor and troubleshoot database systems to ensure minimal downtime and high reliability.
• Implement backup and recovery solutions to safeguard critical data.
• Provide ongoing support for existing systems, ensuring their stability and scalability.
• Proven experience with Microsoft SQL Server and related technologies.
• Strong understanding of database optimization, performance tuning, and troubleshooting.
• Familiarity with data integration and warehousing concepts.
• Hands-on experience with backup technologies and monitoring tools.
• Proficient in writing and optimizing SQL queries.
• Knowledge of Microsoft Azure and Linux technologies is an asset.
• Ability to manage production environments and resolve technical issues efficiently.
• Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
