SCHOOL : School District No. 53 POSTING : #52 - 2024 / 25 POSITION : Work Experience / Apprenticeship Coordinator Teacher APPOINTMENT : 0.2 FTE Temporary DURATION : September 1, 2024 to June 30, 2025 Summary : This teacher is responsible for Work Experience, Secondary School Apprenticeship (SSA), and transitions to trades and post-secondary programs. This position requires travel within and outside the district. Qualifications Required : degree in secondary education; current knowledge of work experience 11 / 12, SSA, and post-secondary transitions programs including dual credit courses; demonstrated understanding of Ministry Graduation Program requirements; ability to work with business organizations, labour unions, post-secondary educational institutions, government and private agencies, and other school districts (must have the ability to meet with these partner groups on and off site); ability to model, teach and foster social, emotional and cultural awareness; knowledge of current 21st century pedagogy and assessment practices; demonstrated ability to work effectively in a team environment and contribute to the professional community at the school and district level; effective communication, interpersonal, organizational and classroom management skills; ability to integrate technologies and digital citizenship into educational programs; and BC Professional Teaching Certificate and current eligibility for Teacher Qualification Service card.
