We are seeking a coop student to join our technology team for 4 (extensible to 8) months. The successful candidate will work in a fast-paced Agile team environment and help us advance our cloud-based energy management and information systems. The Coop student will be primarily responsible for coding and / or testing enterprise applications (backend and frontend) per client requirements. What will you do?
- Requirements analysis, design, implementation, unit testing, debugging and maintenance of our software applications
- Write well designed, testable, efficient code by using best software development practices
- Automate tasks through appropriate tools and scripting
- Follow our agile software development process

- Currently pursuing studies in software engineering, computer science, or a related field + Knowledge of software development process and technologies + Experience with Web applications, programming languages and frameworks such as JavaScript, JQuery, AngularJS, HTML5, CSS3 + Experience with cloud computing platform and services + Data modeling and database design experience. + Experience with Web Services (REST, SOAP, etc) and API design for extensibility and portability + Positive attitude, enthusiasm, self-motivation and commitment to quality + Excellent written and verbal communication skills. + Team player is a MUST + Ability to learn quickly + Good problem solving, analytical and technical troubleshooting skills Desirable
- Basic understanding of software Agile methodologies, particularly Scrum. + Experience with working in distributed teams + Experience with version control systems such as Git and Bitbucket + Experience in Atlasian tools like Jira Software, Jira Service Desk, and Confluence What's in it for me? The base pay compensation for this full-time position is starting at CAD20.00 per hour for candidates who are B.C. residents.
