Truck Driver

Job Summary :

Vest Tube LLC flatbed drivers are responsible for delivering cargo on time and completing necessary paperwork including delivery receipts and OTR hauls.

Duties / Responsibilities :

• Drive a Class A Truck
• Inspect truck to ensure it is in proper running order
• Complete an inspection verification sheet
• Report any problems to the appropriate personnel.
• Verifies load matches Bill of Lading
• Check flatbed to ensure everything is in good working order ensures tires are properly inflated and the load is correctly set for transportation.
• Strap down the load and tarp the load if needed.
• Driver confirms if client has an appointment for their arrival or not.
• Plans Driving routes for greatest efficiency
• Monitor road conditions and watch for traffic congestion
• Keep accurate records of mileage fuel consumption and delivery time
• May be responsible for picking up materials as needed from other suppliers.
• On occasion maybe asked to load or unload their own flatbed.
• May interact with customers answering questions collecting payments and providing updates on delivery status.
• Safely operates the truck in adherence to all traffic laws federal state and local regulations.

WORK ENVIRONMENT

Work is performed mostly performed outdoors and in a Truck Cab. Work may require employee to be in an environment where the noise level may be loud with some exposure to fumes. Employee will be required to wear the appropriate PPE.
