Payroll Specialist

Our client is looking for an experienced Payroll Specialist to join their team on a contract basis in New Westminster, British Columbia. This role requires a detail-oriented individual who can efficiently manage payroll processes, perform year-end reconciliations, and ensure compliance with financial regulations. You will be working in a dynamic environment, supporting a range of payroll functions for a diverse employee base.

Responsibilities :

• Process payroll for approximately 750 employees, including hourly and salaried staff, across multiple pay cycles.
• Perform year-end payroll reconciliations, including CPP, EI, and T4 accuracy checks.
• Collaborate with the accounting team to ensure payroll reconciliation aligns with fiscal year-end reporting.
• Manage biweekly and weekly payroll cycles for non-unionized employees, with attention to compliance and accuracy.
• Ensure dental codes and other benefit-related details are correctly reflected in T4 reporting.
• Provide payroll support for hospitality employees, including casual staff, and address any discrepancies.
• Handle payroll functions for unionized care home employees, ensuring adherence to specific pay group requirements.
• Utilize payroll and accounting software such as ADP Workforce Now and Ceridian Dayforce to streamline processes.
• Maintain accurate records and resolve any payroll-related inquiries promptly.
• Monitor and enforce compliance with provincial payroll regulations and standards.
• Minimum of 2 years of experience in payroll processing and reconciliation.
• Proficiency in payroll software systems, including ADP Workforce Now and Ceridian Dayforce.
• Strong knowledge of T4 reporting and year-end payroll processes.
• Familiarity with provincial payroll regulations and compliance standards in British Columbia.
• Experience managing payroll for both unionized and non-unionized employees.
• Ability to handle multiple pay cycles and employee classifications efficiently.
• Excellent attention to detail and problem-solving skills.
• Strong communication and collaboration abilities to work effectively with accounting and HR teams.
