Pest Control Technician

Grain Millers is hiring a Pest Control Technician. This is a permanent full-time position. This position is required to work Monday- Friday, 8-hour shifts .

POSITION SUMMARY :

The Sanitation Level II-Pest Control is a member of the Sanitation team and carries out all duties and responsibilities of the department as required.

This position is responsible for maintaining pest control devices and performing functions under the GMCC Integrated pest management program. This includes, but is not limited to, carrying out preventative and corrective action pertaining to pest related issues. Daily tasks include equipment and structural cleaning, maintaining sanitary conditions of all facility premises in a manner that is conducive to food safety and HACCP standards, and eliminates potential for pest harborage, infestation, and microbiological contamination.

You will be responsible for operating various types of powered mobile equipment and performing general grounds and facility maintenance such as pest control, mowing, trimming, raking, cleaning up grounds and removal of litter, shoveling snow from entrances, walkways, railway tracks / turnouts / crossings, and vehicle driveways assigned

This position is also required to assist other members of the sanitation team with day-to-day tasks .

ESSENTIAL QUALIFICATIONS

• Grade 12 or equivalent
• Must hold or have the ability to acquire a valid pesticide applicator structural and fumigation license(s).
• Knowledgeable in pest control requirements of a food processing environment.
• Ability to operate various types of Power Mobile Equipment.
• Possess strong organizational skills.
• Knowledge / previous experience of plant processing / grain handling operations including sanitation practices.
• Must be able to work in a Grain processing environment that exposes staff to allergens such as grain dust.
• Computer skills in Microsoft Windows, Word and Excel are preferred.
• Must be able to work at elevated heights and confined spaces.
• You must be comfortable working in an outside environment with exposure to extreme weather.
