Job Description
We are seeking a Jr Data Scientist to develop solutions in-house, with scalable platforms that can be extended globally. This person will support with piloting, productizing and deploying high impact, global data analytics use cases, using specialized data science / AI techniques. This person will additionally help in identifying new strategic application fields or products by applying innovative AI methods and technologies.
Responsibilities
- Develops large-scale decision support tools based on optimization e.g., LP, MIP, NLP, etc...).
- Proposes new algorithms and heuristics for solving new problems.
- Prepares program test data, test programs, and debug programs.
- Derives analytical requirements, select and execute appropriate mathematical methods and interpret the results in consultation with the business teams.
- Implements pilots or POCs for prioritized use cases with country / regional / functional teams.
- Applies mathematics, statistics, predictive modelling and machine learning techniques to develop and productize predictive and prescriptive models for decision making and to optimize processes.
- Collaborates with other teams to understand their needs for a project and tailor models and analysis accordingly.
- Collaborates on architecture of the new cloud-based supply chain enterprise systems and applications, determining key design elements, technical specs, platforms and coding standards in Python or Java.
- Patents approaches and work with leading universities in researching future opportunities.
Required Education and Experience
One (1) year of experience in data science / AI software development jobs, required.Strong programming skills with at least one programming language (Python, Java etc.), required.Highly motivated self-starter with a willingness to learn and desire to succeed, required.Able to balance competing priorities and demonstrate the ability to work without direct supervision, required.Experience in analyzing complex problems and deriving creative recommendations through data science, required.Good communication skills, demonstrated fluency in written and spoken English, required.Willingness to work in a dynamic, diverse and intercultural environment, required.Good understanding of the supply chain business and the logistics IT landscape (WMS, TMS), preferred.Our Organization has a business casual environment and focuses on teamwork, associate development, training, and continuous improvement.
