Your role on our team : As a Junior Data Analyst on our Finance & Valuations Team at Minto Group, your primary responsibility will be to assist in the completion of financial reports, management reports, and a wide range of data-driven analyses related to our real estate entities. In this co-op position, you'll have the opportunity to gain hands-on experience in data science within the real estate sector.

In this role, you will :

  • Assist in the collection, automation, cleaning, and organization of various data sources for valuation purposes.
  • Develop and maintain predictive models and algorithms to support financial analysis.
  • Collaborate with the Finance & Valuations team to provide data-driven insights and recommendations.
  • Assist in the preparation of financial reports, presentations, and valuation documents.
  • Contribute to the development of financial models to assess the performance of real estate assets.
  • Create informative and visually appealing data visualizations to communicate complex data findings to stakeholders.
  • Design interactive dashboards for data reporting and analysis.
  • Stay up to date with industry trends and best practices in data science and real estate valuation.
  • Suggest innovative solutions and improvements to existing data processes and models.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to gather data requirements and ensure data accuracy.
  • Participate in team meetings and contribute to a culture of knowledge sharing and learning.
  • We would like you to have :

    Experience :

  • Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite; specifically, Excel, PowerPoint, and Word
  • Enrolment in a Bachelor's or Master's program in Data Science, Computer Science, Statistics, Finance, or a related field.
  • Previous coursework or projects related to data analysis, machine learning, or statistics is a requirement.
  • Prior experience with data manipulation and analysis tools such as Python (NumPy, pandas, scikit-learn) or R.
  • Exposure to data visualization tools like Tableau or Power BI is advantageous but not required.
  • Real estate or business-related experience is an asset.
  • Skills, Knowledge and Abilities :

  • Strong analytical skills with an attention to detail; this includes evaluating and recommending possible improvements.
  • Ability to function efficiently under pressure in order to meet various deadlines.
  • Ability to frequently transition between working independently and supporting team initiatives.
  • Ability to convey complex data findings to non-technical stakeholders.
  • Proven ability to develop and maintain effective relationships with team members and other departments; this includes excellent communication, interpersonal and problem-solving skills.
  • Understanding of statistical concepts and machine learning algorithms.
  • Proficiency in data gathering, cleaning and preprocessing techniques.
  • Strong work ethic and willingness to learn.
