About the Role
If you have a passion for accounting, enjoy working collaboratively, and have a background in the Aerospace & Defense industry, we may have the perfect role for you! As a Sr Accountant, you will apply principles of accounting to analyze financial information and prepare financial reports, oversee the control of accounts and records in such areas as disbursements, expenses, tax payments, and income. You will compile and analyze financial information to record transactions, prepare reports, and review and verify accuracy. You will prepare balance sheets and profit and loss statements, consolidated financial statements, and other accounting schedules and reports. You will be responsible for the adherence to and communication of accounting and auditing policies and procedures. As a Sr Accountant, you will also work on special projects and support leaders in account reconciliations and various other assignments as necessary.
Key Responsibilities :
Assist GL team to complete the month-end close, including preparing journal entries and reconciliations, supporting trend analysis, and assisting in investigating and resolving questions and issues as they arise.
Contribute to the external audit process by collating and preparing supporting documentation for interim reviews and year end audits.
Assist with the review of customer contracts to determine the appropriate revenue recognition approach.
Provide support on project cost accounting, rate analysis, and month-over-month analytical review of direct expenses.
Take the lead on special projects within the accounting function, researching issues and proposing potential solutions and alternatives, discussing with key stakeholders, and ultimately contributing to improved accounting processes.
Assist with SOX implementation, documentation and training, including coordination with management and control owners to create and maintain internal control documentation (risk and control matrices, narratives, flowcharts).
Support the preparation and review of quarterly and annual financial statements.
Provide support in researching and preparing technical accounting memos.
Provide ad-hoc financial support for cross-functional information requests.

Minimum Qualifications :
Bachelor's Degree in a related field and typically 6 or more years of relevant experience (higher education may substitute for relevant experience).
Comprehensive knowledge of GAAP.
Detail oriented with strong analytical abilities.
Strong Excel skills and demonstrable ability to manipulate, summarize, and analyze large sets of data.
Ability to work independently on assigned projects.
Consistently strives to improve processes and gain efficiencies.
Preferred Qualifications :
Certified Public Accountant (CPA) certification or pursuing.
SAP accounting system experience.
Public accounting experience.
Working knowledge of FAR, DFAR, and CAS.

91,154.71 - $125,337.72
