JOB SUMMARY
Reporting to the President and Chief Operating Officer, the Manager, Hospitality collaborates with leadership to define the evolution of the hospitality group including the people, culture, processes, reporting, and technology, contributing to the expansion of the division.
GENERAL RESPONSIBILITIES
- Executes on the vision for the Hospitality Group by assisting with creating the strategy and roadmap for the evolution of the hospitality group including people, culture, processes, and technology.
- Collaborates with executive leadership, finance, marketing, and other operational units to strengthen and scale the service delivery of hospitality group.
- Communicates detailed financial reports on revenue in relation to capital expenditure across the portfolio.
- Develops business plans and strategy designed to maximize guest satisfaction, profitability, and market share aligned with the hospitality group’s strategies.
- Gathers and conveys business related data such as market share, financial performance, inventory, guest and employee KPIs to proactively address changing market conditions.
- Collaborates with leadership to execute pricing strategy of portfolio ensuring the maximization of revenues.
- Conduct property site visits and market reviews with executive leadership and construction and development teams.
- Creates operational budgets for hospitality division, including staffing requirements.
- Identifies emerging service trends and opportunities for continuous improvement to enhance processes, increase quality and reduce operating expenses.
- Leads a high performing team and culture focused on value creation, delivering results, guest service, and leadership development.
- Sets goals and expectations for direct reports using performance review process, produces developmental plans, and holds staff accountable for key performance areas.
- Manages supplier negotiations and contracts, ensures products and services meet brand- and property-specific standards and deliverables.
- Manages critical path for opening readiness, including pre-opening and countdown / punch process with appropriate support teams, both internal and external to the group.
- Develops and executes guest surveys; reports results of KPI’s to head office and disseminates results to properties; coordinates continuous improvement action plans with properties.
- Promotes adherence to external and internal policies such as Municipal / Provincial / Federal laws, Alcohol & Gaming Commission of Ontario, Employment Standards Act, Innkeepers Act, etc.
QUALIFICATIONS
Undergraduate degree or diploma in hospitality management or relevant field of study.Minimum 6 years of relevant work experience in hospitality environment.Demonstrated ability to lead a team, with at least 4 years of managerial experience in hospitality space.Financial acumen in a hospitality essential, including demonstrated ability to prepare detailed budgets, and regularly communicate metrics on portfolio performance.Demonstrated ability to communicate detailed reporting on hospitality revenues and ongoing capital expenditure.Exposure to new hotel opening an asset, including familiarity with pre-opening process.Familiarity with Guesty, Booking.com, Vrbo, and AirBnb platforms a strong asset.Working knowledge of Marketing in hospitality setting, including website management and familiarity with driving bookings through social media and other forms of marketing.Highly collaborative, forming strategic relationships with colleagues across the organization.Exceptional communication skills both verbal and written.Exceptional attention to detail, placing great emphasis on delivering an exceptional guest experience.WHAT WE OFFER
