What you’ll do

• Provide conceptual design and design delivery according to required timeframes and standards by supervising the performance of mechanical engineers, reviewing deliverables, and providing high level technical expertise.
• Assist with the development and review of relevant mechanical contracts by providing advice and input as required.
• Motivate team members towards superior performance by supporting daily performance and providing ongoing mentoring and training.

What you’ll bring

• Undergraduate degree in Mechanical Engineering.
• Registered as a Professional Engineer (P.Eng).
• Minimum 10 years mechanical design engineering experience in a relevant industry, e.g. mining, mineral processing, materials handling, specifically gold and copper.
• Ability to resolve most technical issues in an efficient manner utilizing personal knowledge, external consultants and in-house experience.
• Good knowledge of CAD and 3-D software and MS Office.
• Knowledge of multi-discipline engineering.
• Commitment to mentoring and coaching of personnel.
• Proven ability to manage, motivate and influence employees at all levels.
• Strong analytical skills.
• Well-developed written and oral skills.
• Ability to prioritize tasks for the design team and manage time effectively.
