Security Guard - Milton

Commissionaires Great Lakes (CGL) is a private, not-for-profit organization founded in 1925 on a mandate that prioritizes providing meaningful employment for veterans and others committed to the well-being of Canadians primarily in security guard and related services. Spanning Central and Southwestern Ontario, our services are customized to respond to the dynamic and evolving security needs of both private and public sector clients. These include uniformed guard, mobile response and support services, by-law enforcement and identification services.

We are currently seeking a Commissionaire to join our growing team.

WHAT OUR EXCEPTIONAL COMMISSIONAIRES ARE RESPONSIBLE FOR:

• Ensure access control is followed, and client property is secured
• Ensure the gate/reception desk is always monitored
  
• Respond to alarms and utilize alarm panels
• Assist employees, clients, and visitors
  
• Maintain a positive attitude and professional working relationships with employees, visitors, and clients
  
• Maintain high standards of personal appearance and deportment
  
• Operate a truck gate, including managing vehicle flow and performing duties in all weather conditions
• Complete daily logs and reports as necessary
• Other duties as may be required by the client or site supervisor

WE ARE EXCITED FOR YOU TO OFFER US:

• MUSTOntario Security Guard License
• MUSThave a valid First Aid and CPR certificate
• Excellent English verbal and written communication skills
  
• Strong understanding of computers and security related principles
  
• Ability to stand/sit for long periods
  
• Must be able to handle confidential information with a high level of discretion
  
• Must be able to make quick, sound decisions in emergency response situations with minimal supervision
  
• Must be able to work alone while maintaining a high level or service to the client is essential
  
• Demonstrated ability to multi-task and perform in stressful situations

WHAT THE JOB OFFERS YOU:

• Rate of Pay: $19.78 per hour
• Working Hours: Friday - 2300 to 0700, Saturday - 1900 to 0700
  
• Location: 333 Market Drive, Milton, Ontario

As a front-line representative of our company and clients site you must be highly reliable, work well under pressure, able to work with minimal supervision, have the ability to multitask and be a professional who takes pride in your dress, deportment and performance at all times.
