(CAN) Pharmacy Assistant – Walmart Canada

Position Summary

The Pharmacy Assistant assists the Pharmacist in technical aspects of prescription filling and administrative duties to increase patient care opportunity. They are a key member in delivering superior customer service across Pharmacy Operations.

What You’ll Do

• Receive prescriptions from patients; ensure completeness per provincial legal / regulatory conditions (e.g., name, address, DOB, allergies, 3rd Party information, special requests, prescriber, generic / brand, 21st Century Guidelines).
• Perform computer functions as directed by the Pharmacist (data entry, price check, patient information entry / update, interpretation of written prescriptions, dosage calculations, refills, report generation, patient profile checks).
• Fill prescriptions under the Pharmacist’s supervision, selecting appropriate products, performing accuracy checks (7‑point, visual, DIN), labeling, and organizing for pharmacist checking. Facilitate verbal refills and Cognitive Services as authorized.
• Maintain inventory control; assist in stock level maintenance, pull expired medications, clean Will Call bin, process returns, order drugs and supplies via preferred wholesaler, operate Telxon gun, price and put away orders, zone shelves, and manage key brand and generic selections.
• Perform general housekeeping : station supplies (vials, labels, bags), keep the dispensary clean and safe, maintain and clean equipment (computers, fax machines).
• Organize clerical tasks : file prescriptions, invoices, reports, correspondence, complete administrative support functions (journals, accounts receivable, aged trial balance).
• Assist with OTC operations including ordering, stocking, and cashier duties as directed by OTC Manager or Pharmacist.

Pay

Pay range : $17.60 – $23.10 per hour, determined by relevant experience.

Minimum Qualifications

Age – 16 or older.
