Job description

In Your Role You Will

  • Administers medications to clients according to established policies and procedures.
  • Follow prescribed Individual Care Plans.
  • Maintain records such as logbooks and daily activities relating to clients.
  • Assist in the evaluation of service deliverables and contribute information and recommendations toward improvements to the program.
  • Assist the individual with medical appointments (GP and Mental Health services) and community inclusion.
  • Provide meals and provide reminders pertaining to daily living skills.
  • Prior to confirmation of employment all applicants must provide a current (dated within 6 months of hiring date) Criminal Record Check and Ministry Check. These checks can take up to 6 weeks to obtain, please ensure you prepare accordingly.

As An Ideal Candidate You Possess

  • Completion of a post-secondary program in one of the humanities, social sciences or related field; or an equivalent of 2 years of professional / hands-on experience would also be considered.
  • Awareness of mental health needs is an asset.
  • Valid CPR / First Aid and Food Hygiene and Sanitation certificates (or will obtain prior to contracting)
  • Valid Non-Violent Crisis Intervention Certificate
  • Valid BC Driver’s License and clean driver’s abstract with a reliable, safe vehicle that has appropriate insurance
  • Clear TB Screening, physician’s note confirming good health and current immunization record
  • Experience with computers, including knowledgeable operation of standard programs
  • Must own and possess operating experience, with a working printer / scanner / copier that is located in the home
  • Preference for candidates that have a successfully completed Safe Home study.
