Job Description
We are seeking a detail-oriented and efficient Material Handler / Delivery Driver to join our team in Parksville, Canada. In this role, you will be responsible for managing the flow of materials within our warehouse, ensuring accurate inventory control, and supporting our logistics operations.
- Receive, unload, and process incoming materials and shipments
- Pick, pack, and prepare outgoing orders for shipment
- Operate forklifts and other material handling equipment safely and efficiently
- Maintain accurate inventory records and perform regular stock counts
- Organize and maintain a clean, safe warehouse environment
- Collaborate with team members to ensure timely order fulfillment and customer satisfaction
- Assist in loading and unloading delivery vehicles
- Identify and report any discrepancies or damages in inventory
- Follow all safety protocols and procedures in the warehouse
- Participate in continuous improvement initiatives to enhance warehouse efficiency
- Drive the Emco truck in a safe manner and in compliance with company policy, applicable traffic laws and provincial Ministry of Transportation legislation. Destinations include job sites, customer facilities, vendor facilities, other Emco locations, other wholesaler facilities and any other location as directed by management
At the end of the workday, ensure that the driver’s log is completed
Complete pre-trip inspections and inform management of any mechanical problems with the truck
Secure loads properly following all legislation, ensuring nothing will shift, get damaged or fall from the truck
Pick customer orders and load the truck at the Profit Centre with material to be delivered curb side to customers or vendors while ensuring the necessary equipment to safely load the truck is available
Qualifications
High school diploma or equivalentMinimum of 1 year of warehouse or material handling experienceProficiency in operating forklifts and other material handling equipmentStrong attention to detail and ability to maintain accurate recordsExcellent organizational and time management skillsPhysical stamina and ability to lift heavy items (up to 50 lbs) regularlyBasic math skills for inventory calculationsProficient computer skills for using inventory management systemsEffective verbal communication and interpersonal skillsSafety-conscious mindset and commitment to following warehouse safety protocolsAbility to work collaboratively in a team environmentFlexibility to adapt to changing priorities and workloadValid driver's license may be required for occasional local deliveriesPreferred Qualifications :
Experience with warehouse management softwareKnowledge of inventory control best practicesFamiliarity with lean manufacturing principlesCertification in forklift operation or other relevant material handling equipmentAdditional Information
Salary Range : $45000-50000 base plus benefits and year end profit sharing.
