As the Director of Indirect Sourcing and Procurement, you will lead and manage all sourcing and procurement activities for non-product related goods and services, such as laboratories and production supplies, facilities services, IT, professional services, office supplies, and other indirect spend categories. This role is critical to optimizing procurement processes, driving cost reductions, and ensuring that the procurement of all indirect goods and services supports the strategic goals of the company while maintaining compliance with financial and regulatory requirements.
Responsibilities :
- Lead and mentor a team of procurement professionals, fostering a culture of performance, accountability, and continuous improvement.
- Develop the procurement team’s skills and capabilities, providing guidance, coaching, and support for career development.
- Lead the development and execution of strategic sourcing initiatives for all indirect spend categories.
- Develop category strategies to optimize cost, improve service levels, and ensure compliance with company policies and regulatory requirements.
- Analyze market trends and industry best practices to drive innovation and efficiency in procurement processes.
- Identify and deliver cost-saving opportunities, process improvements, and value-creation initiatives through robust category management and strategic sourcing.
- Develop and maintain strong relationships with key suppliers to ensure best-in-class service and optimal contract terms.
- Conduct supplier performance evaluations and implement continuous improvement initiatives with suppliers to drive quality, innovation, and cost-effectiveness.
- Manage supplier negotiations, contracts, and service level agreements (SLAs) to ensure compliance, risk mitigation, and financial savings.
- Partner with internal stakeholders to understand business needs, align procurement activities, and ensure seamless service delivery.
- Work with finance to align procurement activities with company budgets and cost reduction goals, ensuring that all indirect spend aligns with financial strategies.
- Collaborate with the legal team to ensure that all contracts comply with legal and regulatory requirements, managing risk and mitigating potential liabilities.
- Oversee the procurement process for indirect categories, ensuring timely and efficient execution of purchase orders and contracts.
- Develop and implement procurement policies and procedures to improve efficiency and control.
- Ensure procurement activities align with the company’s financial objectives, identifying opportunities for cost savings and process improvements.
- Track and report key procurement metrics (e.g., cost savings, procurement cycle time, supplier performance) to measure performance and drive continuous improvement.
- Manage risks related to supplier relationships, contracts, and procurement processes, ensuring compliance with all regulatory requirements (e.g.data privacy laws).
- Promote a collaborative and results-driven environment, ensuring the team works effectively to meet business objectives.
