The Supervisor Open Space Maintenance West leads a dedicated team to deliver safe, high‑quality maintenance activities across parks, gardens, reserves, and playgrounds in the western region of the municipality, including Drouin, Longwarry, Neerim South and Noojee.
This કહ role supervises staff and council contractors, ensuring all works meet Baw Baw Shire Council’s open‑space maintenance standards.
A key part of this role is fostering a positive team culture and safety‑first mindset, supporting the professional growth of the open‑space maintenance team, and upholding council’s agreed behaviour values and cultural commitments.
Qualifications & Experience
- Minimum Certificate III in horticulture or equivalent with substantial relevant experience.
- Current Victorian driver licence with median rigid endorsement.
- Experience supervising staff and contractors, achieving programme timeframes.
- Experience in a wide range of open‑space maintenance activities in the municipal or related field.
- Ability to supervise tasks, set priorities and work to timelines in a pressured and changing environment.
- Demonstrated customer service and teamavance focus.
- Sound communication, problem‑solving and interpersonal skills.
- Common computer software experience.
- Ability to provide day‑to‑day support and guidance to staff to ensure programmes are achieved safely, efficiently and cost‑effectively.
