Position

RVA is looking for an Engineering Designer to join their Transportation team in a full‑time permanent position.

Duties

• Assist in preparing designs for transportation projects, including roads, rail, storm / septic sewers, water mains and other infrastructure.
• Draft transportation plans, sections and details for construction drawings.
• Design and edit drawings in AutoCAD / Civil 3D and MicroStation / OpenRoads as required.
• Identify property and utility relocation requirements for construction.
• Work closely with project managers, senior and intermediate engineers, and other team members to develop designs, reports, and contract documentation.
• Perform other related duties as assigned.
• May be required to work on site as a Site Inspector during construction season(s) under the supervision of a Contract Administrator.

Compensation Range

The salary range for this position is : $70,000.00 – $110,000.00. Compensation will be determined based on education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, seniority, geographic location, performance and business needs.
