As a Salesforce Marketing Cloud Solution Architect you specialize in leading the design, development and support for all applications built on the Salesforce Marketing Cloud platforms (Marketing Cloud Engagement, Marketing Cloud Personalization and Data Cloud) across our client's global team.
This is an exciting opportunity for a results-driven, seasoned technical leader to help grow and lead a team of individuals who design innovative ways to accelerate the growth of our business.
Salesforce Marketing Cloud is a foundational application platform underpinning numerous critical applications ranging from powering elements of or Unified Guest Profile, Digital Marketing CRM, Omnichannel Personalization, Infrastructure and Data & Analytics.
As such, this role will require a leader who is able to interact with critical business units and is laser focused on service delivery excellence for all services dependent upon Salesforce.
This critical leadership position will not only require deep technical acumen, but the successful candidate will also be challenged with leading the client's transition from a reliance on external development and support partnerships, to developing an internal Salesforce Center of Excellence.

This role is based out of the client's North Vancouver office and is open to hybrid and remote work. Candidates must be eligible to work in Canada.
The team : You will be leading a small and collaborative team that works with many departments across the client's organization.
The client values learning and growth, and strives to deliver the best solutions to the teams using Salesforce and other application systems.
The Salesforce Marketing Cloud team is responsible for building and maintaining the client's marketing automation technology stack.
The team is organized into squads that include other developers, Administrators, Quality Analysts, Business Analysts and Product Managers.
Salesforce Developers work closely and collaboratively with many other teams including Infrastructure, Guest Services, Marketing, Loyalty, and Data & Analytics.
Responsibilities :
- You will lead the design and delivery of solutions on Salesforce Marketing Cloud platforms to meet customers’ business goals
- You will set strategic direction for the Salesforce Marketing Cloud technologies used by the application team, and be accountable for overseeing the overall quality execution of technology across all product squads
- Maintain an accurate inventory of capability and capacity across both internal Salesforce teams as well as key partners
- Adjudicate resource engagement options to deliver in a timely fashion, with high quality and low risk
- Represent the team and remove hurdles to enable each team member to operate at the highest level of efficiency and productivity

- Scrutinize code deliverables to ensure consistency in approach and adherence to architecture principles
- Maintain the personal technical expertise such that you can augment the team and provide hands on development or QA support when required
- Evolve monitoring systems to become more predictive and less reactive
- Publish and maintain excellent documentation targeted at end users, support resources and technical teams
- Recruit, grow, nurture, and retain team members, while fostering an enjoyable work environment
- Foster an environment of continuous learning
- Ensure our customers achieve their strategic objectives through the proper technology systems architecture
- Lead and conduct analysis, design, planning, and implementation, using a comprehensive approach for the successful development and execution of strategy
- Drive best practices, process, and enablement for Salesforce core offerings from a technical perspective while collaborating with our internal facing clients, the business teams
Qualifications :
- You have a bachelor’s degree in computer science, Engineering, or related field
- You have 8+ years of experience with Salesforce platform must specialize in Marketing Cloud, Data Cloud and Marketing Cloud Personalization
- You have deep knowledge of AMPscript, SQL, HTML, CSS, SSJS and JavaScript
- You have the following certifications Marketing Cloud Consultant, Marketing Cloud Developer, Data Cloud Consultant and Marketing Cloud Personalization Accredited Professional
- Familiarity with Network Protocols and Services (DNS, HTTP, HTTPS), APIs (SMC, CRM, SOAP / REST), object-oriented programming and design with .
NET, Java, and / or PHP
- You have experience in leading the design, building, end-to-end testing and documenting of cross cloud marketing automation projects
- You have experience developing self-serve email templates in Salesforce Marketing Cloud which are optimized for different ESPs and screen sizes
- You can identify issues / risks and present alternatives to alleviate or resolve
- You are familiar with data architecture / schema, including relational data models and sql syntax, documentation of data models, and data flows
- You have experience working with distributed onshore-offshore development models.
- You have expertise in vendor negotiations, commercial and contract management experience with legal
- You have experience with vendor and stakeholder management
- You have experience building Personalization use cases
- You have strong experience with Agile software development principles
- You are a strong communicator, whether written or verbal, practicing active listening. You can translate technical complexities into more common understood business concepts.
