Project Cost Controller

We are looking for a detail-oriented Project Cost Controller to join our client's team in Winnipeg, Manitoba. In this role, you will oversee the tracking and reporting of project-related costs, ensuring accuracy and efficiency in financial documentation. This position is ideal for someone with a background in accounting and the construction industry, who thrives in a fast-paced environment and enjoys working on diverse projects.

Responsibilities :

• Maintain and update databases to track labour and equipment usage across projects.
• Organize and manage project-related document files for easy retrieval and reference.
• Analyze and interpret daily costs associated with ongoing projects to ensure accurate reporting.
• Propose and implement process improvements to enhance administrative efficiency.
• Collaborate with team members to meet project deadlines and address cost-related inquiries.
• Utilize accounting software to perform accurate billing and invoice processing.
• Prepare ad hoc financial reports to support project decision-making.
• Ensure compliance with company policies and procedures in cost tracking and reporting.
• Support other administrative and accounting tasks as needed.
• Minimum of 2 years of experience in accounting, preferably in the construction industry.
• Familiarity with cost control practices is an asset, but not mandatory.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Word, Excel, and Outlook.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills to effectively liaise with team members.
• Exceptional organizational abilities with the capacity to multitask efficiently.
• Valid driver’s license required.
• Ability to work both independently and collaboratively within a team setting.
