Global Director, Purchasing

Location : Canada

Compensation : $200-225k

Importance of the Position :

As the Global Director, Purchasing , you will lead the organization’s worldwide purchasing function—spanning both production and advanced purchasing. Your leadership will shape supplier strategy, guide sourcing decisions, and ensure new product development is supported with optimal component fabrication processes and supplier partnerships.

This is a high?impact role for a strategic, forward?thinking purchasing leader who thrives in a global, fast?paced manufacturing environment.

Core Responsibilities

Develop and implement global purchasing systems, policies, and processes, ensuring consistency across all regions

Lead the creation and execution of global purchasing strategies aligned with senior management objectives

Oversee and support the global supplier strategic planning process

Guide and support global purchasing teams during supplier negotiations

Lead the annual global cost?reduction initiative

Ensure suppliers consistently meet cost, quality, and production capacity requirements

Direct the Advanced Purchasing function in collaboration with Product Engineering to identify cost?effective component fabrication processes and select optimal suppliers for new product programs

What we are looking for?

Minimum 3?year diploma or equivalent; Mechanical Engineering background is an asset

Demonstrated ability to support business strategy through purchasing leadership

Valid passport with no global travel restrictions

SCM designation is an asset

Minimum 10 years of purchasing experience in automotive manufacturing or a similar industry

At least 5 years of direct purchasing experience within the automotive sector

Proven success in achieving cost reductions with engineered components
