Hours :  37.5 per week

Salary : $71955 to $89954 annually (To commensurate with experience and consistent with UHN compensation policy)

Status :  Permanent FullTime

Position Summary

The Epic Technical Analyst reporting to the Epic Release and Security Manager will support the change control processes and coordinate key environment activities including updates upgrades and build migration. This role will coordinate testing activities to migrate application build between environments in order to ensure integrated tests are successfully performed and communicate testing progress to project managers and leadership team.

The Epic Technical Analyst will also provide day to day support of users & security activities including enduser account provisioning in Epic attending to complex and / or escalated issues that arise and lead special projects as required.

Duties

  • Direct and manage application and integrated testing efforts to successfully test changes to the live system
  • Secure facilities and equipment for testing
  • Communicate testing progress and environment readiness
  • Select modify and create testing / tracking tools
  • Support and coordinate the change control process upgrade planning maintenance window planning and golive planning committees
  • Coordinate the Epic upgrades or special updates with application education clinical informatics and technical teams
  • Provide day to day support of users and provider accounts in Epic
  • Maintain expert knowledge in the Epic user provisioning process
  • Document system problems and resolutions for future references
  • Provide oncall support for 24 / 7 coverage on a rotational basis
  • Perform cross functional duties as assigned or requested
  • Lead special projects as required

Qualifications :

  • Successful completion of a University Degree in a Computer Science
  • Minimum 35 years experience in application testing
  • Strong project management skills to coordinate activities in a large acute care and academic hospital
  • Excellent interpersonal and negotiations skills including outstanding written and verbal communications skills
  • Excellent in MS products (Word Excel)
  • Able to work with multidisciplinary teams in a positive and productive manner
  • Selfmotivated and able to work independently with minimal supervision
  • Excellent customer relations and support service skills a must
  • Excellent problem recognition and problem solving abilities along with Incident and Problem management skills
  • Excellent analytical interpersonal prioritization and organization skills
  • The ability and willingness to learn new software and systems
  • The ability to seek logically examine and interpret information from different sources to determine a problems cause and developing a course of action to resolve the problem and to prevent its recurrence
  • The ability to persevere in difficult situations overcome obstacles and reach high levels of performance when faced with stressful work situations and time pressures
  • Complete Epic Data Courier Administration Epic Security and Provider Administration certifications within 3 months of start date (approval is conditional upon successful completion of these certifications.)
  • Certifications ITIL and / or PMP preferred
