Position Summary
Looking for an experienced nursing leader for the Peace Villa. If you are passionate about providing effective and efficient delivery of hospital services, please look into this position.
In accordance with established vision and values of the organization, the Program Leader practices in accordance with the standards of professional practice and code of ethics as outlined by the BC College of Nurses and Midwives (BCCNM) as well as within a patient / client / resident and family centered care model. The Program Leader is responsible for the provision of excellence in the delivery of a patient / client / resident and family centered approach to care within a designated program / clinical area(s). Administers, oversees and coordinates the delivery of health services for direct patient / client / resident care in accordance with the established mission and goals of Northern Health. Provides leadership and supervision to staff, coordinates resources, determines workforce plans, establishes work assignments, and monitors activities in order to enable the delivery of quality patient / client / resident care, effective utilization of resources, and overall effectiveness for the designated program / clinical area(s). Makes selection decisions in hiring new staff, conducts performance reviews, and determines training, orientation and development needs. Facilitates solutions to work problems and issues. Provides direct patient care as required.
Peace Villa is attached to the new Fort St. John Hospital via a corridor link. Peace Villa is a 115-bed facility, including one respite bed. Peace Villa provides Recreational Therapy Services 5 days a week. Pastoral and Spiritual Services are provided by the Peace Villa Worship Services and community volunteers. There is a Volunteer Program in place to support recreational activities. Hairdressing and barber services are available on site for a fee determined by the service provider. Peace Villa also provides an on-site integrated community adult day program, operating 5 days a week.
New Wage : As of April 1, 2024 the new wage is : $52.39 - $66.65 / hour
Fort St. John is known as “The Energetic City,” which reflects the large resource base of oil, natural gas, forestry and agriculture. Overlooking the Peace River, the town of Fort St John is located above the Peace River Valley and serves as the capital of the Peace River district. The population of Fort St. John is over 21,400 but it services an area of approximately 70,000. The community is the hub of the Northeast with a cultural centre and library, theatre, and art space. There are seven elementary schools, two middle schools, and one secondary school. There is also a Northern Lights College campus.
