As we continue with our growth strategy we are currently seeking and have an immediate opening for a qualified and motivated individual to fill the position of Fire Protection Senior Designer based in Edmonton AB .

Key Responsibilities :

Design automatic fire sprinkler systems in accordance with current building codes and NFPA standards.

Prepare general arrangement drawings using AutoCAD and HydraCAD / AutoSPRINK software.

Perform hydraulic calculations using HydraCAD or AutoSPRINK software to determine sprinkler head selection piping sizes and fire pump sizing.

Conduct fire protection system assessments using AFT Fathom or similar hydraulic analysis software.

Coordinate fire protection piping layouts with other disciplines including HVAC plumbing electrical and structural.

Prepare material orders and fabrication documents based on fire protection design drawings.

Review fire protection designs prepared by others to ensure compliance safety efficiency and practicality.

Participate in project meetings with project managers and other trades to support project coordination and execution.

Qualifications & Experience :

University or college degree or high school diploma with relevant experience.

25 years of experience in mechanical electrical or fire protection design.

Strong knowledge of NFPA standards Building Codes and FM Global guidelines.

Proficient in AutoCAD Revit and Navisworks.

Experience using HydraCAD AutoSprink or equivalent fire sprinkler design software.

Experience using AFT Fathom or equivalent hydraulic analysis tools.

Experience with 3D drafting and BIM is considered an asset.

Familiarity with project management software such as Procore is considered an asset.

Strong attention to detail with excellent problem-solving skills.

Ability to work both independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced team environment.

Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
