Position Summary :
Canadian Solar is seeking a technically minded Sales Manager to foster strong customer relationships and develop business opportunities in the Ontario, Canada region. You’ll be trusted to uncover new opportunities, drive sales and cement Canadian Solar as a market share leader in the respective region as you sell products from CSI’s component portfolio. In this role, you will :
- Generate, identify, qualify and contact new business leads for the module sales group
- Establish new relationships with PV Distribution and Installation companies that will result in new revenue channels and perpetuate Canadian Solar's reputation as a leading manufacturer
- Meet with existing distribution and installation partners; develop a close, binding relationship, understand their needs and take steps to ensure the company’s solutions are positioned to solve their growing and changing needs
- Travel approximately 60% (or more) throughout the year within your designated sales territory to build strong relationships and have deep-dive technical conversations with our target customer base.
- Use data to gauge your success and track how you're pacing towards meeting and exceeding individual and team KPI's (key performance indicators) related to new business growth, sales volume, market share and more within your designated territories
- Manage the entire sales cycle (lead generation, technical education and deal closing) of our Module PV Products in the Residential sector.
- Partner closely with Executives in Sales, Operations, Planning and more to establish revenue forecasts, communicate progress towards established goals, and conduct prospect reviews
- Collect competitive market and territory data from the field, sharing best practices and new business development opportunities with your collective team
- Participate in trade shows and conferences to represent the company, to entertain clients and prospects and to close new sales opportunities.
- Establish “product bankability” to support clients with project financing and lender acceptance
Professional Qualifications :
Must have at least 3 years of B2B sales experience within the photovoltaic industry5 years experience B2B sales of tangible products that are technical and / or electrical in natureAbility to quickly uncover unique challenges and needs of customers within your assigned states / territoryWillingness and excitement to travel approximately 60% (or more) throughout the year within your designated sales territory, at your discretion. Frequency determined by strategy, attainment of targets, business needs and the individual needs of customers in each area.You live within 1 hour of a major airport and currently live in CanadaYou have your own playbook for generating new business and your own lead generation strategy that will set you up for success as you explore opportunities to grow our brandAbility to find the decision maker in a complex deal, identify their criteria or hesitations, overcome objections and sell the Panels and Inverters manufactured by Canadian SolarStrong presentation and communication skills - In person, over video / phone and emailExcellent interpersonal skills : you're a team player, open to trying to new things, receptive to coaching and feedback and can thrive while managing yourself in a remote capacityHigh proficiency of MS Office applications, Outlook and CRM tools such as SalesforceBachelors or Associate degree in business management, administration, engineering, supply chain or related a related field is a plus, but not requiredBilingual in languages like Chinese, Mandarin, Spanish or Portuguese and others are a plus, but not requiredCompensation & Benefits
Canadian Solar offers a competitive salary plus fully comprehensive benefits and performance bonus package based on quarterly objective achievement.
The base pay range for this position is $100,000 – 150,000 CAD. This range represents annual base salary only, without regard to location, and does not include bonus or other incentives or benefits that may apply. The pay range for this role is subject to change.
