Water Resources Engineer - Hybrid
Job Description
Mission
We are seeking a Water Resources Engineer to join our Water Resources Team in Toronto to provide support to projects related Infrastructure, Municipal, Highway, Transit, etc.
You will have the opportunity to take part in our hybrid work model that includes flexible work hours, working from home and in the office.
The work will mainly be carried out from our Mississauga or Burlington office. Travel to various sites may be required time to time according to project requirements.
Primary Responsibilities :
- Prepare drainage plan and develop hydrologic and hydraulic models for Municipal, Road, Highway, Rail, Land Development and Transit projects.
- Involve in the design of stormwater management including storage systems, LID design, storm sewer design and hydraulic grade line analysis.
- Helps preparing technical reports and memorandums.
- Coordinate with interdisciplinary team regarding drainage requirements for the projects.
- Conduct field inspections to suit the design and construction of civil projects.
- Manage regulatory applications and approvals.
- Assist in completing design activities and preparing engineering drawings related to drainage and stormwater management.
- Provides support for construction activities as a project engineer when necessary.
- Assists with proposal preparation and business development.
- Estimate quantities to complete construction estimates in compliance with standardized methods and established drawings and specifications.
- Helping to maintain strong relationships with clients.
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in civil engineering with a specialization in water resources engineering from a recognized university.
Postgraduate Degree in Water Resources would be an asset.
- Minimum 3+ years of relevant experience, preferably in an engineering consulting environment.
- Strong understanding of water resources engineering principles.
- Good knowledge and experience with hydrologic and hydraulic modelling software specifically PCSWMM, Visual OTTHYMO, HEC-RAS, Culvert Master, and SWMHYMO.
- Familiarity with GIS and databases is an asset.
- Good Knowledge of AutoCAD and Civil 3D
- Excellent knowledge on Word, and Excel. Knowledge on Microsoft Project will be an asset.
- Professional Engineer in Ontario (P.Eng.) licence or must be eligible to obtain within one year.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Able to work independently with minimum supervision as part of multidisciplinary teams.
- Must possess a valid driver’s license and the ability / willingness to undergo security clearance checks.
