The opportunity

The Senior Banking Support Officer will provide support across the Banking Support team to assist with the ongoing delivery of high quality services to CWB Group and our clients. This role reports to the Sr Manager, Banking Support.

What you'll be doing

Make an impact by :

  • Verifying reconciliations, payments processed, estate and registered products and cash management services customer onboarding and maintenance. .
  • Leading problem solving to help provide solutions for complex requests and / or items / issues and escalate for support as required.
  • Supporting and training Banking Support Officers with documentation and management control, implementation and use of technical tools.
  • Providing input to department managers regarding employee performance to assist with effective and meaningful coaching conversations and performance reviews.
  • Day-to-day activities

  • Review and authorize work completed by Banking Support Officers as required
  • Participate in the regular Quality Scoring activities
  • Maintain long term document control and electronic reporting for all applicable tasks
  • Take a people first approach to offer direct support to the CWB branch network, to enable them to deliver a best in class customer experience.
  • Regularly review Service Level Agreements targets in collaboration with individual leader to ensure client needs are met.
  • Recognizing gaps in standard operating procedures, provide recommendations for improvements and assist with documentation to drive consistent and predictable daily outcomes, and strong data integrity
  • Identifying and escalate issues related to policy, procedures, or specific branch or client situations
  • Actively participate as a subject matter expert and contributor in projects and initiatives within area of expertise, meeting time frames as established / assigned by leadership
  • Provide support to the Banking Support team to help problem solve and provide solutions to resolve outstanding items / issues
  • Assist leaders with cross training and provide coverage during team member absence

  • Risk focused with good working knowledge of retail banking policies, procedures, laws, rules, regulations, and compliance requirements.
  • Aptitude with technology, with an ability to quickly learn new technology and tools.
  • Very good understanding of CWB Group's policy and procedures, products and services
  • Strong work ethic and positive team attitude
  • Requires minimal supervision
  • Advanced organizational skills with the ability to prioritize and multi-task
  • Foundational knowledge and experience to grow from

  • High School Diploma required
  • Post Secondary Education in Business, Finance or a related field is an asset
  • Minimum 2 years of experience, preferably in operations within banking and centralized or support centre
  • Experience working within the financial sector is an asset.
  • Aptitude to continuously improve processes
  • Proficient in T24 (Banking System)
  • Intermediate to advanced skills and experience with Microsoft Office applications, specifically Word, Excel and Teams
