SUMMARY
The position of Applications Designer supports the Engineering Team by generating new product designs and continually improves the design of current products by applying the needs of StackTeck Systems, customers and suppliers.
MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES :
3D modeling and 2D drafting using UGDesign plastic part models and drawings for thin wall containers and lidsDesign plastic part models and drawings for caps and closuresDesign plastics part drawings from customer supplied 2D drawings and / or 3D modelsCreate “steel” part models and drawings for use by the injection mold design groupReview / critique customer supplied plastic part drawings specifically for : Cycle time limitations, part ejection, part strength, manufacturability, possible re-cuts to molding surfaces, automation requirements.Provide feedback on customer supplied part drawingsLiaise / consult with external and internal customersConduct part design reviews with the mold design group, technical services manager, project manager and customerMINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS :
TECHNICAL KNOWLEDGE / EXPERIENCE :
College or University related background in engineering, sciences, or mechanics3-5 years experience in UG / NX solid modeling and 2D draftingInjection mold knowledge / experience is an asset (Thin wall, closures)Excellent communication in English (verbal and written)Must be very organizedMust be able to deal with external and internal customers in a professional mannerMust be able to perform in a team environmentMust be able to shift from varying priorities depending on the business needs at the timeMust be able to meet deadlines set out at the beginning of the projectBEHAVIOURAL
