Work from sketches, blueprints, or CAD designs to design patterns for molding, casting, or machining.

Material Selection and Preparation :

Choose appropriate materials for patterns, ensuring that they are suitable for the type of manufacturing process and part being produced.

Prepare and treat materials for pattern making, which may involve cutting, sanding, carving, or molding.

Pattern Modifications and Adjustments :

Modify patterns as necessary to meet production requirements, including adjustments for shrinkage, tolerances, or fit.

Inspect patterns for accuracy and make adjustments as needed to ensure precision and quality.

Prototyping and Testing :

Test patterns for functionality and accuracy by working with production teams or using them in casting, molding, or other production processes.

Collaboration with Engineers and Designers :

Work closely with engineers, designers, and production teams to understand design requirements and optimize pattern design.

Provide feedback on design feasibility and suggest improvements based on pattern-making knowledge.

Quality Control and Inspection :

Ensure all patterns meet required specifications and tolerances.

Inspect completed patterns for defects, inaccuracies, or areas that may require reworking.

Implement quality control measures to maintain high standards in pattern creation.

Record Keeping and Documentation :

Maintain accurate records of pattern designs, materials used, and any modifications made.

Ensure that patterns are labeled and stored properly for easy identification and retrieval during production.

Maintenance and Tool Management :
