  • An environment which is leveraging technology to its highest potential Team Profile :   The Fixed Income Division is comprised of Interest Rate and Currency Products, Credit Products and Distribution. Professionals in the Division assess and actively manages risk, trade securities, and structure as well as execute innovative transactions in the fast-paced and constantly changing global markets. The Commodities Division is a market leader in energy, metals, and agricultural product trading worldwide whose professional’s trade in both physical and derivative commodity risk. The Client Financing Strats team is closely integrated with the client financing trading desk and focuses on three areas : developing pricing and risk models and systems to support client financing trading in products such as repo, bills, total return swaps, and bond forwards; implementing electronic trading algos for repo and bills, and driving system development; building data driven trading applications to facilitate trading desk’s profit and loss (i.e., P&L) generation. Position Description : Client Financing is seeking a candidate in Montreal with a solid technical background, a strong motivation to learn about the client financing markets, and a commitment to trading application development. It is expected that after a vigorous training process, the candidate can independently contribute to the development of risk and P&L system, data driven trading applications and repo electronic trading pricing algo. Primary responsibilities include :
  • Active development and production support of trading applications in a Python-based data analytics library;
  • Active development and production support in Scala-based risk and P&L system;
  • Close collaboration with operations, middle office, IT teams to improve the existing workflows of Client Financing;
  • Acquiring in-depth knowledge of repo markets to improve collateral allocation and funding, balance sheet management, and funding cost P&L attribution;
  • Establishment of a close relationship with Sales and Trading to identify P&L opportunities, propose and implement creative solutions for P&L generation;
  • Close collaboration with other Strats groups to consolidate resources and push for strategic business solutions.

Qualifications

Skills Required :

  • Advanced degree in a quantitative field such as Mathematics, Statistics, Engineering, Physics or Computer Science;
  • Strong technical skills in programming (preferably Python and / or Scala);
  • Strong statistical / econometric skills and ability to analyze large datasets;
  • Strong communication skills (the role requires effective collaboration across a range of groups and regions;
  • Ability to present complex issues clearly, both verbally and in writing;
  • Ability to work thoughtfully, independently and manage multiple projects. Skills Desired :
  • Knowledge of Fixed Income products.
