BSS seeks an inspiring leader and seasoned coach, passionate about driving meaningful change and empowering student-athletes to cultivate leadership, teamwork, and sportsmanship. This visionary leader will shape and advance the school's Athletics Strategy, ensuring it aligns with the Signature of a BSS Girl , our Culture of Powerful Learning, and the overall Athletics program.

What You’ll Do :

Champions the School’s commitment to being a leader in promoting female leadership through sports, empowering students to develop confidence, grit and leadership skills both on and off the field.

Leads the development and implementation of the School’s Athletics Strategy, ensuring a comprehensive program that offers a diverse range of sports opportunities for all students. This includes providing multiple entry points and differentiated levels of play, with the overarching goal of fostering meaningful competition and engagement for all student-athletes.

Maintains a cohesive, high-quality athletics program that aligns with the Ontario Curriculum, Sport for Life’s Long-Term Development framework, and sport-specific standards to ensure developmentally appropriate training, competition, and growth at all levels

Collects and analyses data on participation / experience of program / growth and development

Manages the whole school Athletics Department budget with budget forecasting including amortization / replacement timeline

Oversees the whole school co-curricular athletic program, running the Grades 7 to 12 co-curricular athletic program and overseeing the Junior School Athletic Director on the Junior School program

Hires and provides orientation to external coaches, including crisis management training

Actively monitors changes, updates, and best practices at all levels of sports to ensure compliance with guidelines, policies, and legal requirements, while maintaining up-to-date certifications, facilitating necessary training, and promptly implementing adjustments to keep the program safe and fully compliant.

Who You Are :

An experienced educator with an educational background in Health and Physical Education, or Kinesiology is preferred

Current coaching certification (NCCP) and several years of coaching experience at a variety of levels leading other coaches

Current understanding of the latest research on coaching, and in particular, coaching girls

A proven record of outstanding achievement in a leadership role with strong interpersonal and intrapersonal skills

Excellent organizational skills with the ability to work with details, prioritize, multi-task and problem-solve in a fast-paced flexible learning environment

Annual Salary Range : $67,175 - $130,143 + a stipend (depending on qualifications and years of experience)
