$96,964 - $114, 075 (Annually) - actual salary offered will be commensurate with education, experience and internal parity.
Reporting to the Manager, Platform Services, the Database Manager is responsible for managing databases and application servers ensuring their day-to-day and on-going operations, including performing database and software installations, configuration changes, backup, recovery, and upgrades, and maintaining security and integrity of informational assets within the database. He / She / They provide ongoing database administration and technical support for Human Resources (HR) and Payroll Systems, and manage sensitive and confidential data, user access, and HR reporting. The position also researches and analyses capabilities of existing and emerging database, middleware and application related technologies, explores opportunities for improvements, and ensures issues are logged and assembled for priortization, resolution and follow-up.
CANDIDATE PROFILE :
The successful candidate will have the following :
EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE :
Bachelor’s Degree in Information Technology or other relevant fields.Considerable experience in supporting mission-critical corporate enterprise databases such as ERP, CRM, ECM, HR and Payroll and programming in a variety of languages. Strong experience in database administration, producing extensive system documentation, gathering user requirements and managing systems projects.Or an equivalent combination of education, training and experience, acceptable to the Employer.Criminal Record Check (Tier 1) is required.Enhanced Security Screening (Financial Inquiry) is required.KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES :
Extensive knowledge of SQL and PL / SQL.Extensive knowledge of database administration activities including monitoring, storage utilization management, performance tuning, networking, backup and recovery.Considerable knowledge of data models and mapping data source / target.Considerable knowledge of working with Oracle and Microsoft SQL Server technologies and tools including : Oracle Enterprise Manager / Grid Control.Microsft SQL Server Client and Management tools.Oracle RMANOracle Data GuardSQLPlus, SQL Loader, Import & ExportDiscoverer Desktop / AdministratorReal Application Clusters and Cluster-wareOracle Application Server or WebLogicSound knowledge of web technologies and development tools (ie., HTML, JavaScript, J2EE, XML)Sound knowledge of planning disaster and implementing recovery strategyWorking knowledge of Discoverer administrationWorking knowledge of Oracle Developer Suite (Forms and Reports)Working experience supporting J2EE application servers including Oracle Application Server and WeblogicExcellent skills in Microsoft Office 365 applications including Word, Excel, Access, Powerpoint, Project and VisioExcellent skills in operating systems including Windows, UNIX and LINUXStrong interpersonal, organizational, analytical and problem-solving skillsAbility to create and update technical and user manual documentationAbility to work effectively within a team of made up of business users and technical analystsAbility to generate and articulate new ideas and adapt effectively to new technologiesAbility to excel working under pressure to meet deadlines and changing prioritiesAbility to exercise good judgment in dealing with matters of a confidential nature
