The Opportunity

This is a hands-on Controller role with full ownership of the accounting function. Youll be the go-to finance leader working closely with the President & COO and supporting a Board made up largely of non-financial operational leaders.

The goal of this hire is simple and important:

Stabilize modernize and strengthen the finance function so leadership can focus on the mission.

What Youll Be Accountable For

Core Accounting & Payroll

• Own full-cycle accounting: AP AR general ledger payroll
• Lead the month-end and year-end close with accuracy and timeliness
• Ensure clean reconciliations journal entries and supporting schedules

Reporting & Insight

• Prepare clear practical financial reports for leadership and the Board
• Deliver variance analysis and explanations in plain language
• Support budgeting forecasting and financial planning

Controls Audit & Compliance

• Maintain strong internal controls and documentation
• Act as primary contact for external auditors and tax advisors
• Ensure compliance with Canadian accounting standards and payroll/tax requirements

Systems & Process Improvement

• Own and optimize Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central
• Improve processes documentation and use of technology
• Support the implementation of inventory and operational reporting
