Aviva has an excellent opportunity in our GCS – Engineering Risk Management department for Sr. Manager Equipment Breakdown.

You will provide supervision and management of the regional managers and field engineers providing engineering services, claim services, and support to the company and our customers .

What you'll do

Responsible for delivering on EBI inspection and claims strategy, loss prevention efforts and comprehensive loss prevention strategies.

Lead and manage a high performing national team of engineers in jurisdictional inspections in compliance with National Board and provincial legislation.

Embed a customer centric culture within the team, mitigating risks for customers and Aviva including customer training.

Monitor trends and changes in the market.

Accountable for top and bottom-line expense management.

Establish quality control measures including critical review of risk assessment reports.

Provide market leading claims handling thorough understanding of claims management, juristically legislation and applicable laws.

Application of preventative, predictive and corrective maintenance practices to improve risk.

What you'll bring

3–5-year supervising field services including claims

5-7 years as an Equipment breakdown specialist

3-5 years’ operating as power or marine engineer at or above 2nd class or 5-7 years managing a production facility.

Advanced computer skills including MS word, excel, power point.

Degree in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering or Diploma in Marine or Power Engineering

Ability to obtain National Board commission / Provincial certification for boiler and pressure vessel inspection.

CRM / CIP designation including all claims courses is preferred.

Comprehensive understanding of boiler and pressure vessel government legislation.

Competency with ASME codes of construction and inspection.

Competency with National Board of Boilers and Pressure Vessel Inspection codes.

Superior report writing skills.

Self-motivated and organizational skills and ability to work independently are essential.

Superior communication and interpersonal skills.

Excellent Leadership skills.

Willingness and ability to travel.

Valid driver’s license and clean driving record.
