KIT Recruitment is working with a client to find an exceptional Plant Manager for their Saskatchewan facility (Swift Current or North Battleford). This is an exciting opportunity for a proven Plant Manager with a strong background in operations, team leadership, and problem-solving, who is eager to transition into the grain industry.
The Plant Manager will be responsible for overseeing all aspects of facility operations, including production, storage, and distribution of grain products. As a hands-on leader, you will be instrumental in driving operational efficiency, maintaining a high standard of safety and quality, and leading a team to success. You will play a pivotal role in shaping the future of the facility.
Plant Manager – Role Details :

Plant Manager – Responsibilities :
Operations Oversight : Manage daily plant operations, including processing, storage, and distribution of products. Work closely with logistics teams to ensure efficient coordination of shipments and inventory.Team Leadership : Lead, mentor, and develop a team, fostering a culture of safety, collaboration, and continuous improvement.Safety & Compliance : Enforce safety protocols and industry regulations. Develop and conduct training programs and regular safety meetings.Maintenance & Equipment Management : Oversee maintenance of plant machinery and facilities, ensuring minimal downtime and effective preventive maintenance.Quality Control : Collaborate with quality assurance teams to ensure products meet industry standards and implement quality testing procedures.Customer Relations : Build and maintain relationships with suppliers, farmers, and customers, addressing operational concerns and ensuring excellent service.Reporting & Documentation : Maintain accurate records of plant activities and production. Provide regular performance updates to senior management.Plant Manager – Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Business Management, Operations Management, Engineering, or a related field.Certifications 433, 442, or 309A is considered an asset.At least 7 years experience in plant management or operations, with a focus on leadership and process optimization.Strong leadership, problem-solving, and decision-making abilities.5 years experience in Food ManufacturingExperience in managing teams and optimizing processes.Familiarity with safety and quality standards in production environments.Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.Ability to adapt quickly and a willingness to learn about the grain industry.Proficiency in computer software for reporting and record-keeping.
