Civil Engineer (Intermediate)

Job Description
We are seeking an Intermediate Civil Engineer to join our Kelowna office. You will work with a collaborative team of civil and water resources professionals to deliver integrated projects in commercial land development, water resource, lineal infrastructure, stormwater management, planning studies, roadway design, site inspections, condition assessments, contract administration, and more.
The role requires strong technical skills in transportation infrastructure – including options studies, planning, design, tendering, and contract administration. Additional experience in low‑volume roads, resource bridges, pedestrian bridges, and culvert design is a valuable asset. You will lead and prepare studies, designs, cost estimates, specifications and contract documents, while also participating in business development and proposal preparation. Travel may be required.
Responsibilities
- Act as Project Engineer and / or Project Manager
- Prepare written technical reports : feasibility studies, concept design, detailed design, and design criteria reports
- Prepare contract documents and construction drawings
- Oversee and coordinate work for Civil Technologists
- Provide support to technicians and designers to ensure accurate deliverables
- Perform construction administration and inspection
- Manage communications with clients, schedules, budgets, and reporting requirements
- Coordinate sub‑consultants and other disciplines on larger projects
- Execute projects in accordance with company guidelines and standards
- Participate in marketing strategies and business development, including site visits, construction field reviews, and emergency flood response services
- Collaborate on water resources, infrastructure, and transportation projects across BC
- Hydrological analysis and watershed modelling
- Hydraulic analysis and modelling of creeks, rivers, channels, culverts, bridges, and water management structures
- Hydraulic analysis and modelling of drainage and stormwater systems
- Hydrotechnical design of water management infrastructure and flood protection systems
- Mapping and spatial analysis of GIS data
Qualifications
Undergraduate degree in Civil Engineering from an accredited post‑secondary institutionRegistered or eligible for registration with EGBC as a Professional Engineer3+ years of civil design experienceExperience in the resource sector (mining and / or forestry) related to transportation, bridge and civil studies, design, specifications, cost estimating, tendering and constructionProficiency in Civil 3D and AutoCADProven technical skillsStrong communication and organization skillsCommitted team playerTrack record in managing clients and developing client relationshipsCommitment to You
