EFFECTIVE DATE : Immediately (Non-Union, 10-month position – works September through June annually)
Under the direction of the Mental Health Leader, the Student and Family Counsellor will function as a member of a multidisciplinary team providing support services to students and families through consultation / assessment, crisis intervention, counselling, attendance investigation, community liaison / networking, prevention programming, professional development and child / family advocacy. In addition, s / he will provide the necessary professional skills to assist students in problem solving and conflict resolution in a safe and healthy manner to ensure student success. The successful candidate must be comfortable counselling virtually over a secure platform. They must be prepared to carry out duties in a face-to-face format, virtually, or using a combination of the two.
