QUALIFICATIONS
Completion of accredited Law Clerk program. 5 - 8 years as a Law Clerk, with direct and practical experience working in estate litigation. Ability to communicate effectively with other members, with the aptitude to take care of clients’ needs in a professional and courteous manner. Ability to perform legal research, identify legal issues and analyze legal documents for accuracy. Developing aptitude to coach and mentor junior law clerks. Produce a high quality and quantity of work product, often under tight timelines. Able to handle stress in a business-like manner and redefine priorities when necessary. Strong time management and organizational skills. Excellent understanding of the Rules of Civil Procedure. Self starter, able to work in a remote environment with limited supervision. Confident and dependable with strong initiative and the ability to work both independently and in a team oriented atmosphere. Exceptional technical skills, including experience in MS Office Suite, Expert Time, iManage and WindUp. Working knowledge of Relativity or another document management software an asset. Basic understanding of other relevant areas of law including real estate, commercial law and tax an asset. Certificate in Estate and Trust Administration (CETA) an asset.
