We are looking for a strong Software Development Engineer who can take the lead in identifying and solving ambiguous problems.
You will own and heavily influence the architecture and design, and will write a significant portion of the critical-path code.
You will influence the team’s technical and business strategy by making insightful contributions to team priorities and approach.
Successful candidates will be strong leaders who can prioritize well, communicate clearly, and have a consistent track record of delivering large scale solutions.
You will contribute to all aspects of an agile software development lifecycle including design, architecture, development, documentation, testing and operations.
You will push your design and architecture by owning all aspects of solutions end-to-end, through full stack software development.
Key job responsibilities
- Mentoring the team on front end practices and stadards
- Defining testing strategy
- Establishing front end related metrics to ensure performant and effective performance
- Collaborating with design team on implementation, user research, responsiveness and error handling
- Ensuring Accessibility standards are met and reviewed
- Work with the broader team to improve alignment and reusable elements for use in all compensation products
A day in the life
We build web applications for managers, HRBPs, internal compensation domain experts and stakeholders to better serve Amazonians.
We work with the internal stakeholders directly or through product team and designers.
We support range building process and data management through the products we built. Oncall load is light for half time in a year.
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS
- 2+ years of non-internship professional front end, web or mobile software development using JavaScript, HTML and CSS experience
- 1+ years of computer science fundamentals (object-oriented design, data structures, algorithm design, problem solving and complexity analysis) experience
- Experience in agile software development methodology
- Experience using JavaScript frameworks such as angular and react
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
- 2+ years of agile software development methodology experience
- 3+ years of professional front end development experience
