JOB OVERVIEW

Ontario Power Generation (OPG) is looking for a dedicated and results driven professional to join our Training Programs team in the role of Training Video Specialist in Pickering, Ontario.

Reporting to the Senior Manager, the Training Video Specialist will provide support and content development on eLearning framework and other Training related applications.

This is an exciting opportunity to work in an environment where you will contribute to Ontario Power Generation's continued growth and success in generating safe, clean, reliable low-cost power in a sustainable manner.

KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES

  • Work closely with training teams, Subject Matter Experts (SMEs), and stakeholders to identify areas where video learning could be impactful, and conceptualize what a video learning solution would look like
  • Responsible for end-to-end development and execution of learning videos, including planning, shooting, editing, and posting videos using professional-grade equipment and software
  • Support various training program groups such as engineering, maintenance, and operations training, ensuring the delivery of quality learning content
  • Maintain and update learning videos in accordance with new or revised policies and procedures, ensuring they are accessible and aligned with current standards
  • Provide a high level of customer service and communication to the training customer with the goal of maximizing training effectiveness and supporting nuclear safety
  • Participate in regular brainstorming sessions, contributing new ideas and ensuring continuous innovation in our learning approach
  • Maximizing reliability through good working behaviours and using both nuclear and software industry best practices
  • Knowledge of industry standards, trends and regulatory requirements.

EDUCATION

  • Completion of a four-year university education in an appropriate field such as computer science, education, adult learning, communications, or equivalent

    • QUALIFICATIONS

  • Knowledge and application of Adult Learning Principles, ADDIE and other instructional principles and methodologies
  • Proficiency in video and audio editing software such as Final Cut Pro and Adobe Premiere Pro
  • Hands-on experience with video production, including operating cameras, and lighting
  • Working experience with multimedia / graphic design and Adobe Creative Cloud Suite
  • Experience from a learning lens and knowledge in video learning areas
  • Strong analytical, problem solving and organizational skills
  • Ability to quickly assess, detect and correct errors and / or mitigate risks to the organization
  • Thorough attention to detail; able to prioritize and multitask; proactive and deadline-oriented
  • Sound professional judgment, initiative, with a results-oriented focus and the ability to work well under pressure in a fast-paced changing environment;
  • A solid understanding of information management practices, systems and current best practices and approaches
  • Experience and ability as a team player to understand and manage the interrelationships of various internal and external groups in order to facilitate objectives and ensure projects satisfy stakeholder requirements
  • Strong in understanding, executing and following governance and procedures with a questioning and analytical attitude / approach under minimum required supervision
