Job OpeningaLocation : Expected Start Date : Full Time : Permanent : Posting End Date : Job Description : Technician - Technician 4 (AESES)New Grant-Funded Continuing Full-Time 35.00 hours / week Monday to Friday 8 : 30 am - 4 : 30 pmSalary Range : $25.75 - $36.97 per hour ($46,865.00 - $67,285.40 per annum)Proposed Start Date : July 15, 2024Trial / Probation Period : 840.00 work hours For more information, please contact : Stephanie Carter@ : - Fulfills research requirements for a funded grant to study mechanisms of antibiotic resistance in bacteria. - conducts experiments to understand molecular mechanisms of antibiotic resistance in Gram-negative bacteria. This will involve design and execution of experiments. Data analysis for genomics, transcriptomics, proteomics, and metabolomics experiments will also be part of the responsibility. - Manuscript writing.- Routine maintenance of lab equipment, plate readers, thermocycler, qPCR, freezers etc - Point of contact to coordinate any required maintenance with the company that provided the machine and scheduling anything required. - Organizes and manages the phenotypic and genotypic data collecting. - Maintains a user schedule, handles administrative privileges and manages data for common equipment in the lab. - General lab managerial type tasks such as tracking lab supplies, ordering reagents, and other required : MINIMUM FORMAL EDUCATION / TRAINING : - Master's of Science required. EXPERIENCE : - Experience with writing manuscripts required.- Experience with NextGen sequencing, PCR, RT-PCR, Mutagenesis, CDNA cloning, DNA / RNA purification processes are essential.- An acceptable equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered.
