Job Description
As our Firmware Team Manager, you will lead a team of firmware and embedded software developers in the implementation of the Edge and Cloud based systems and OS platforms for everything that Vention has to offer. This enables communications between the Vention ecosystem and our thousands of machine parts interactions on factory floors.
Lead and grow a team of five firmware developers, fostering both technical and interpersonal development.Work daily with technologies such as C++, Python, Realtime Linux, Docker, Arm Linux, and hands‑on robotics.Architect the code stack for various deployment environments on Edge and ensure software performance in all environments.Participate in testing and quality of our physical solutions and manufacturing hardware.Collaborate with robot arm manufacturers and motor suppliers such as Fanuc, UR, Doosan, etc.Organize team work : quarterly and sprint planning, estimation, tracking, and reviews to keep projects on schedule.Own a core piece of our product line and guide it to completion.Qualifications
Proficiency in C++, Python, and Bash.Strong leadership skills with experience managing end‑to‑end solutions.Ability to thrive in a fast‑paced, constantly evolving environment.Understanding of TCP / IP, REST, gRPC, WebSockets, and MQTT.Experience with distributed system design and its technical challenges.Knowledge of ROS, robot programming, and motion planning is an asset.Optional : Experience with proprietary robot platforms (URSim, ROBOGUIDE, DART, etc.) and hardware deployment is an asset.Benefits
