Job description

Custom Fabricators & Machinist's non-destructive testing (NDT) department is seeking an NDT Technician to join our team in NFLD. The role involves setting up and calibrating NDT equipment, conducting tests to ensure quality, and detecting defects using various NDT methods. Technicians will be responsible for establishing examination techniques, adhering to safety regulations, and reporting test results. Candidates must have a strong technical background in NDT methods and procedures.

Responsibilities

  • Safely and accurately conduct non-destructive testing and report findings in a timely manner.
  • Set up and calibrate NDT equipment and maintain accurate records.
  • Conduct inspections using appropriate NDT techniques and SOPs.
  • Interpret, evaluate, and document results accurately.
  • Be familiar with the scope and limitations of the methods in which certified.
  • Understand relevant codes, standards, and contractual documents.
  • Work independently with minimal supervision.
  • Identify and resolve problems promptly.
  • Analyze information effectively and present numerical data clearly.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Excel and Word.
  • Perform other duties as required by the supervisor.

Qualifications

  • CGSB certification in NDT methods (Level II MT / PT / Level I UT and CEDO) at minimum.
  • RT Level II, UT Level II, CWB Level I or II, and API certifications are assets.
  • Technical knowledge of NDT methods, procedures, and equipment.
  • Proven ability to perform NDT tasks effectively.
  • Ability to maintain positive working relationships.
  • Attention to detail and report writing skills.
  • Strong work ethic.
  • Valid Class 5 Driver's License.
  • Commitment to safety and quality standards.
  • Ability to perform physical work, including working at heights and in confined spaces.
