Executive Director at Coalition of Muslim Women of KW
About the Coalition of Muslim Women of KW (CMW)
Founded in 2010 by a small group of passionate Muslim women, the Coalition of Muslim Women of KW (CMW) is a charitable organization that amplifies the voices of racialized women and youth while working to eliminate gender-based violence, racism, Islamophobia, and other forms of discrimination.
CMW provides opportunities for leadership, civic engagement, and culturally responsive programs rooted in lived experience. We are guided by anti‑oppression, trauma‑informed care, and community care principles. Employment opportunities at CMW are open to all qualified individuals, irrespective of their faith or gender, who align with our values and our commitment to equity and dignity for all.
About the YOURS Initiative
YOURS is a youth‑driven response to the voices of over 340 young people engaged with CMW over the past year. Youth consistently expressed the need for a safe space, a place where they can be themselves, connect with peers, share experiences, and grow personally and professionally.
With support from the Astley Family Foundation and Waterloo Region Community Foundation, YOURS is more than a program; it’s a movement. It empowers racialized and Muslim youth in the Waterloo Region to take ownership of their futures by identifying their needs, co‑designing solutions, and leading initiatives that matter to them.
Position Summary
