Job description

MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Develop and optimize processes surrounding supplier quality management;
  • Approve First Article Inspection (FAI) from suppliers (AS9102);
  • Manage FAI deviations and ensure the implementation of effective corrective actions;
  • Analyze and validate dimensional, functional, and documentary reports;
  • Lead DFM (Design For Manufacturability) activities between core engineering and suppliers;
  • Validate the manufacturability of drawings, tolerances, GD&T, and special requirements;
  • Conduct supplier audits;
  • Approve and maintain the qualification of special processes;
  • Evaluate the manufacturing capability of suppliers;
  • Review supplier change requests and coordinate with engineering and purchasing to assess impacts;
  • Participate in design reviews (NPI, ECO, revision changes);
  • Identify technical risks and propose solutions upstream;
  • Ensure coordination of inspection activities between the quality control team and suppliers.

POSITION REQUIREMENTS

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering (or related field) and a minimum of 3 to 5 years of experience in a similar role;
  • Technical knowledge to understand technical drawings of molded, machined, electronic parts, etc.;
  • Knowledge of sampling methods and control plans;
  • Knowledge of statistics, particularly methods for defining process capability (Cpk, Ppk), control charts, and repeatability and reproducibility analyses (gauge R&R);
  • Bilingualism (French/English);
  • Available for supplier visits (between 5 and 10%) (CAN/US);
  • Experience in continuous improvement;
  • Excellent interpersonal, communication, and leadership skills.

ASSETS

  • Knowledge of risk analysis methods (FMEA, FTA);
  • Knowledge of IPC-A-600, IPC-A-610;
  • Knowledge of ISO-13485 and 21 CFR 820 standards;
  • Understanding of CMM (Coordinate Measuring Machine) operation.
