Job Responsibilities
Live Fire Training and Workshop Systems
Lead engineering and design of “Class B” propane‑fueled fire training systems compliant with CSA, NFPA, UL, ESA, and TSSA requirements.Develop bills of materials and technical documentation, including instructions for use and safety labeling.Lead project engineering with senior support and guide EIT Mechanical Engineers.Mine Life Support Breathing Gas Systems
Lead engineering activities with senior support and guide EIT Mechanical Engineers.Design breathing protection and supply systems, including mine refuge shelters and auto‑cascade refill systems.Quality Assurance
Develop or adapt Acceptance Test Protocols (ATP).Perform testing, commissioning, inspections, and prototype validation.Resolve deficiencies and implement corrective actions for production or vendor components.Coordinate third‑party inspections (ESA, TSSA, NRTLs) and maintain approval documentation.Support corporate quality initiatives, SOP compliance, and component lifecycle planning.Technical Support & Sales
Prepare technical quotes, drawings, and RFP documentation.Develop and maintain sales and technical support materials.Oversee technical designs for assigned product groups.Collaborate with Engineering Services (Germany / regions).Support portfolio strategy, application knowledge, trade shows, and industry trend analysis.Project Management
Act as project lead and primary customer contact to ensure successful project delivery.Coordinate project execution through completion, including commercial aspects.Monitor and report schedule, cost, and quality performance.Plan and control manufacturing, assembly, and installation activities.Implement corrective actions and ensure compliance with ES project management standards.Technical Leadership
Coach and review junior professionals.Lead internal and third‑party technicians / trades for in‑house and field activities.Education & Experience
Bachelor of Science or Mechanical Engineering.Professional Engineering (P. Eng) designation.Minimum 2 years of experience in product design and engineering, preferably involving industrial applications.Special Competencies or Certifications
Knowledge of design for metal fabrication (steel, SST, aluminum) and understanding of material properties.Knowledge of relevant codes, standards and guidelines (e.g. CSA, TSSA, NFPA).Ability to translate concepts into practical, producible designs.Ability to follow existing templates for design, customer communication and project coordination.Proficiency in 3D CAD (AutoCAD, SolidWorks).Knowledge of PLC‑controlled electro‑mechanical system design and troubleshooting.Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint).Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.Valid international travel documents.Artificial Intelligence (AI) is not being used to screen, assess or select applicants.
