Our client, one of the largest food ingredient distributors for industrial bakeries and food manufacturers in Ontario is undergoing rapid growth and transformation.

Role Overview

Reporting to the CFO, the FP&A Specialist will play a pivotal part in building and optimizing financial reporting and planning processes, contributing to strategic decision-making, and supporting key initiatives such as digital transformation projects.

Responsibilities

  • Financial Reporting Setup :

Develop and maintain financial reporting tools and processes, with a focus on advanced Excel usage.

  • Leverage Sage software experience (preferred) to enhance reporting efficiency.
  • Financial Planning & Analysis (FP&A) :
  • Implement and support a comprehensive Sales & Operations Planning (S&OP) and business review cycle.

  • Analyze key metrics to support strategic and operational decision-making.
  • Forecasting Tools :
  • Build and maintain a robust, monthly three-statement forecasting tool to facilitate forward-looking insights and planning.

  • Ad Hoc Support & Digital Transformation :
  • Collaborate on digital transformation projects, including assisting with User Acceptance Testing (UAT) for new tools and systems.

  • Provide insights and recommendations to optimize ongoing initiatives.
  • Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or a related field.
  • 4+ years in financial analysis, planning, and reporting, ideally within the food distribution or related industries.
  • Expert proficiency in Microsoft Excel; experience with Sage software is a plus.
  • Strong analytical skills with a keen attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills to work effectively with cross-functional teams.
  • Familiarity with digital transformation and testing processes is an advantage.
