What is the project?

The Pickering Nuclear Generating Station Refurbishment Program involves designing and building a new deep‑water intake in Lake Ontario to improve the plant's cooling system. This will involve a 1.5 km‑long tunnel built by a pressurized TBM (10.15 m diameter slurry TBM), two vertical shafts (onshore and offshore), and an offshore modular intake structure resting on the lake bed.

The project is distinguished by its proximity to an active nuclear site, requiring rigorous standards of safety, planning and coordination.

What you will do

• Coordinate technical activities and processes between different internal stakeholders, including engineers, designers, buyers, and project leaders.
• Review project plans, specifications, and drawings to ensure technical accuracy and feasibility.
• Monitor progress and performance of technical activities, taking appropriate action when needed.
• Communicate technical requirements and specifications to relevant stakeholders.
• Respond to technical questions and issues and provide timely recommendations and resolutions.
• Prepare technical reports, documentation, and presentations.
• Monitor construction activities through regular site visits to ensure compliance with project requirements.
• Communicate with external partners, including consultants, subcontractors, and the construction team, to integrate technical solutions.
• Ensure the project’s technical aspects meet safety and environmental requirements.
