Job description

Position Overview

Quality Assurance As a Club Coordinator, you’ll ensure our programs are top-notch by :

  • Treating children and youth with respect, acceptance, and honesty.
  • Interacting with participants in a patient, understanding, and caring manner.
  • Boosting feelings of competency and self-esteem.
  • Making sure children and youth feel physically and emotionally safe and secure.
  • Encouraging responsible, safe, and mutually respectful behavior through positive methods like role-modeling, setting reasonable limits, providing choices, and recognizing appropriate behavior.
  • Guiding inappropriate conduct using positive guidance and behavior management practices.
  • Welcoming all children and youth, regardless of gender, race, culture, economic status, or ability.
  • Collaborating with Neighbourhood Club Program Leaders, other Club Coordinators, volunteers, and students.
  • Engaging children and youth in planning activities that help them develop and enhance their skills based on their needs and wants.

Responsibilities

  • Create a safe and welcoming environment.
  • Train and prepare Neighbourhood Club Program Leaders and volunteers to run awesome programs.
  • Supervise and support Program Leaders and volunteers daily.
  • Ensure program and child protection policies are followed.
  • Gather input from participants to guide programming and evaluate group needs.
  • Meet regularly and collaborate with Neighbourhood Club Program Leaders to keep the fun and quality high.
  • Work with the Director of Youth Programs, Director of Operations, and other Club Coordinators to think strategically about program effectiveness.
  • Plan and implement quality-enhancing programs in consultation with the Director of Youth Programs (e.g., BGCC National Programs).
  • Communication

  • Spread the word about our programs and recruit new club members.
  • Maintain professional and open communications with schools, their administration, parents, and / or guardians.
  • Meet with school administration and BGC Saskatoon leadership as required.
  • Address questions and concerns from parents, schools, funders, etc.
  • Keep in regular contact with all Neighbourhood Club Program Leaders and volunteers, providing feedback throughout the school year.
  • Create connections within the community, such as community associations, Home and School Councils, and other like-minded organizations.
  • Administration

  • Prepare reports as needed (e.g., Monthly Reports, Grant reports, Budget and expense forms).
  • Ensure proper distribution / preparation of all Program documentation (e.g., Incident / accident reports, supply and equipment inventories).
  • Maintain program statistics and registrations.
  • Qualifications

  • Post-secondary education in a related field (preference given to Youth Care Workers,
  • Minimum 2 years’ experience working with children and youth.
  • Valid First Aid and CPR certification.
  • High Five PHCD (training provided by BGCS within first 3 months of employment).
